2026 Grant Distribution – Kitimat Community Foundation
Total Distributed: $63,379.10

Army Cadet League of Canada: A civilian non-profit working in partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces to support the Royal
Canadian Army Cadet program.
$6,162.63 – Purchase of band equipment (drum and case), combat uniforms, drill cane, and training activity equipment such as camping gear.

Kitimat Arts for Youth: Supports visual and performing arts opportunities for youth in Kitimat and Kitamaat Village.
$7,000.00 – Funding for band and music basics programs, instrument cleaning and repair, drama camp, instrument clinics, and instrument purchases.

Kitimat Community Development Centre: The Kitimat Community Development Centre (Kitimat CDC) is a family resource centre providing child, youth, family and community
services in Kitimat.
$11,533.30 – Support for critical upgrades to technology infrastructure and the purchase of a new stove.

Kitimat Community Services Society: Dedicated to improving quality of life through programs that enhance personal, academic, and employment potential.
$8,728.91 – Replacement of carpet flooring in client-serving areas and purchase of furniture and equipment to support services.

Kitimat Museum & Archives: Provides arts, heritage, and cultural services to residents and visitors.
$8,090.00 – Support for the Permanent Exhibit Revitalization Project, enhancing galleries with interactive displays and updated narratives.

Kitimat Understanding the Environment: Operates a recycling depot and promotes environmental sustainability through public education.
$12,796.76 – Repairs to the Styropactor and red baler, office flooring upgrades, and procurement and installation of a new Styropactor unit

Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Society, 63 Kitimat: Provides marine emergency response services in the Douglas Channel area.
$3,000.00 – First Aid Marine and Transportation Endorsement training for members.

Tamitik Status of Women: Supports individuals facing hardship by promoting independence, reducing isolation, and building community connections.
$6,067.50 – Funding for the Free Store and Furniture Exchange programs.
