Grants
As a Community Foundation, all funds must be managed following the rules set by Canada Revenue Agency Charities Directorate. A Foundation must devote its resources (funds, personnel and property) to registered charitable activities.
Charitable purposes can be done two ways – by carrying out its own charitable activities and by giving to qualified donees. Qualified donees are a registered charity, a registered Canadian amateur athletic association, a corporation providing low cost housing for the aged, a Canadian Municipality, the UN and its agencies, some universities outside of Canada, a charity outside of Canada to which Canada made a recent gift, Her Majesty in right of Canada or a Province.
