March 15th, 2019, saw the recipients of funding from the 2018 Kitimat Telethon receive their cheques from Kitimat Community Foundation president Sarina Germuth.
The telethon, in its 39th year, raised $145,000 during the event, with the total grants handed out for 2019 at $108,793.81.

Tools, equipment, and resources for the Speech-Language Pathology, Infant development, Pre-natal/Healthy Babies and Building Blocks Programs. Also a sanitizing dishwasher for the Centre.

Avery thanked the dedication of the Foundation Board members and ACT Committee members, and Committee Chair Michelle Popp for their excellent work over the last year, and the residents of Kitimat here and those abroad for their continuing support of the Telethon, now completed its 38th year. Raised $85,000 in one day!

Kitimat Arts For Youth was granted $5,000.00 that provided for the Music and Munchies Band Workshop and Kitimat Arts For Youth Band Week, Band Section, their Pre-Festival Workshop, instrument purchase, and repair and the Theatre Camp.
Kitimat Community Development Centre was granted $21,072.19 that was used for the purchase of various items for therapy services for their Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathologist, Physiotherapy & Family Support Services. Purchase of items for the Infant Babies – Healthy Babies program as well as monies to augment their nutrition program. Equipment for the Early Years Centre Services to continue with community awareness events and parent education.
Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Society, 63 Kitimat was granted $5,000.00 and used towards replacing the outboard engines on their rescue Vessel, Snowflake Responder II, allowing the vessel to be serviceable for many more years.
Kitimat Museum & Archives was granted $2,995.00 that provided for the Museum Explorer’s Program and Museum in the Classroom Art Workshops.
Kitimat Understanding The Environment was granted $5,000.00 that was used for purchasing a densifier to compress styrofoam.
Tamitik Status of Women was granted $19,000.00 that assisted in upgrading their hardware, their anti-poverty program, and the free store.

Tamitik Status of Women was granted $20,800.00 that were used for the Anti-Poverty Program, the Dunmore Place Transition House and to support the TSW Donations Room Program.
Kitimat Community Development Centre was granted $13,000.00 and used for the Housing Support Program, Speech Language Pathologist, purchase of games, infant mats, child-sized couch, and chairs, as well as the nutrition program for infants, toddlers and preschool children and their Out of School Program.
Kitimat Museum & Archives was granted $8,175.00 and used for the Museum in the Classroom Art Workshops program, the redesign of the Haisla Heritage Collection Display and Museum Explorer Programs.
Kitimat Arts For Youth was granted $2,250.00 and used for instrument purchase and repair, Dance Camp as well as the Band Program.
Tamitik Status of Women was granted $10,600.00 and used for their Anti-Poverty Program and to support the TSW Donations Room Program and the Transition House.
Kitimat Arts For Youth was granted $ 5,000.00 which provided support for the Music & Munchies Band Workshop, Spoken Word Instruction, Nechako School exterior mural, instrument purchase, and repairs and Summer Drama Camp.
Kitimat Community Development Centre was granted $9,000.00 that assisted with the Stepping Stones Daycare, Out of School Care and Healthy Babies Programs and the purchase of therapy equipment.
